Lycian Way

Day-1: HOME - Dalaman, TURKEY / Transfer
Guests are met at Dalaman Airport for the one-hour transfer to Kayaköy. Afkule Monastery – Kayaköy – Ölüdeniz Hike (4 hours). We first hike to Afkule Monastery located on the hills like eagle nest. Lunch in Kayaköy. After exploring this big open-air museum of Kayaköy and talk about the population exchange happened between Greece and Turkey in 1923, we start our hike from Kayaköy heading into the forest through an old trail. The forest path will take us to the viewpoint where we see the Med and seashore. Head down to Ölüdeniz Lagoon with some free time for swimming.

Day 2: Ovacık – Faralya Hike
Hike for Ovacık - Faralya (6 hours). The Walk stays high traversing the slopes of Babadağ (Father Mountain). Spectacular coastal views all the way end with sunset overlooking the sheer cliffs down to Butterfly Valley in Faralya.

Day 3: Faralya – Kabak – Alınca – Sidyma
We start to hike (7 hours) and follow the mountain route to Kabak with amazing views ascending to the mountain village of Alınca nestled above old stone terraces and the towering cliffs of the Yediburunlar Seven capes. The walk continues to the ancient site of Sidyma renowned for its decorative Roman period tombs. Continue to hike to village Bel and finish the hike in village Gey.

Day 4: Delikkemer – Patara – Kaş
The Hike (3 hours) starts from the Roman aqueduct feeding the ancient port of Patara. The trail undulates through diverse landscape to a comprehensive tour of the well-preserved ruins before ending at the 16km protected beach, now a marine turtle conservation zone. Transfer to Kaş. Free time in town to enjoy the waterfront bars & cafes or stroll around the town.

Day 5: Apollonia – Aperlai Hike - Kekova
We drive to the head of the trail (3 hours) near Apollonia. Explore this early Lycian site famous with the Lycian tombs. On the trail, follow rocky paths and goat trails partly shaded by carob trees gradually descending all the way to sea level. Before reaching to the shore, walk by ancient sarcophagi and remnants of Lycian, Roman and Byzantine era hidden in the vegetation. We meet our boat in Sicak Bay and our morning efforts are rewarded with a nice boat tour in different turquoise colored bays of Kekova. We will be stopping in different bays for swimming. We see the Sunken City which is the best and closest way to see the ruins under the water. We disembark in Simena, the modern Kaleköy, a timeless water locked village decorated with Roman-era sarcophagi, age-old olive trees and crowned by a Crusader Castle. We will walk up to the castle for a breathtaking view of the sea below. Transfer back to Kaş.

Day-6: Transfer / Dalaman, TURKEY - HOME
Transfer to Dalaman Airport and fly back HOME.
